Water, Septic & the Shower House

By the winter of 2003, Millerville had power, a road, and a pole barn — but true comfort was still one permit away. That winter, the long-awaited septic permit finally came through, and work began immediately. There was no waiting around. The septic system went in, followed quickly by the well, and suddenly the property had something it had been building toward all along: running water.

With the utilities in place, the next piece fell naturally into focus — a proper shower house. This wasn’t an afterthought or a bare-bones utility building. Judy took on the design herself, bringing both a personal touch and a clear vision for what a family campground shower house ought to feel like: functional, comfortable, and built to last.

Bebout Construction brought that vision to life, raising a structure that has served Millerville’s campers faithfully ever since. The finishing touch came from family and friends — Jon, George, and Chrim took on the tile floors themselves, adding a layer of craftsmanship and personal investment that no contractor alone could provide.

It was one of those milestones that quietly changes everything. Hot showers after a long day on the property. A warm, dry space no matter what the weather is doing outside. The kind of amenity that makes Millerville feel less like roughing it and more like exactly where you want to be.
